📐 3-Axis Cutting File Guidelines
To ensure your file can be successfully processed by our system, please follow these guidelines:
File Format: Submit your design in DXF format.
Shape Requirements: All geometry must consist of fully enclosed shapes with no branches, overlaps, or crossovers.
Design Considerations: The system analyzes parts as nested “islands,” working from the outside inward. Fully enclosed shapes are essential so our software can accurately determine which side of the line to cut.
Properly prepared files help prevent delays and ensure precision in the cutting process. If you’re unsure whether your file meets the criteria, feel free to reach out for a review before submission.
✏️ Additional Design Requirements
To ensure accurate and efficient cutting, please adhere to the following specifications:
Minimum Radius:
No part of your design should have a radius smaller than 0.021 inches. While square corners are acceptable in your file, note that internal square corners will automatically be cut with a 0.021” radius due to the limitations of the cutting tool.
File Organization:
Files must be organized by both material and thickness.Example: All parts to be cut from ¼” steel should be in one file.
Parts to be cut from ⅛” aluminum should be in a separate file.
Material Sheet Size:
Our standard sheet size is 48” x 96” (4 feet by 8 feet). For questions about maximum part sizes, please refer to our [FAQ].
